Universo MOLA Fashion week 2025 (English version)
Bogotá Hosts Fourth Edition of Universo MOLA Fashion Week Focused on Sustainability.
A Toda Moda is a newsletter focused on Latin American designers. Nowadays I'm living in Germany, so I’m also writing about European designers less known in Latin America. I use to write in Spanish, but I decided to create a new section in English to share my work and analysis about Latin-American fashion industry with a new audience. I hope you will like it. Most of the posts are translated using AI, but I’m starting to write a little bit by my own. Sorry if I make any mistakes.
From 7 to 11 April, Bogotá city, Colombia, hosted the fourth edition of the sustainable fashion week, Universo MOLA fashion week (UMFW2025). Organised by Universo MOLA sustainable fashion program, this event brought together designers, brands academics and fashion industry professionals to engage in dialogue, share knowledge and showcase innovative work from sustainable fashion brands and key players across the continent.
Throughout UMFW2025, the program featured talks, workshops, networking sessions, showrooms, and a catwalk showcasing ten sustainable fashion brands from across Latin America, including Guatemala, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay.
Most of the brands featured on the UMFW2025 runway prioritized the use of sustainable materials, upcycling techniques, and, in some cases, zero-waste pattern-making—an approach that enables the creation of unique silhouettes that depart from conventional fashion design.
